The First is the Beginning

Parents babyWhen you feel three isn’t a crowd, it’s because the third wheel is an off production of yourself. Yes, the offspring from hours of intimate moments and satisfying indulgence makes two into a trio. What a wonderful gift and blessing.

Any parent remembers their first child because they teach you so much about yourself. The first kid makes you adjust everything you do. The first child is your test bed to patience, and realizing you are now your mother or the voice of your father. Yes, the first is testimony to you getting life in order.

Fortunately for many, the first is the precursor to having a second and third. By the time you’ve mastered being mom or dad, the first one is driving you around. And then the eldest is off on their own bringing a new challenge to understanding or reliving your early twenties. When you converse logical actions of life  a voice of reason -bold, heavy, and assured – whispers in your ear. Stand, run to the mirror and see if your father or mother who passed years ago, is standing next to you. That’s it, you realize you’ve become your parent.

Life has a cycle we follow. The initial phase is enjoyment, without fully looking at the future. The second phase is finding someone who enjoys being your true companion. The third and not even close to a final phase, is seeing your genes and features in a little person who immediately steals your heart. There is no way you can put it lightly, because love is…well let’s say…love is automatically forever.

If you don’t believe me, ask another person who has kids.
