Yesterday Was Amazing!

Yesterday was amazing. I’m not saying the last 24 hours, but yesterday as in my youthful years. Weren’t those years amazing for you? I do hope so.

What am I remembering that takes my breath away? Well, let’s begin with running three miles under 19 minutes. Wow right! And then there’s the excitement about the little things, traveling to exotic places and eager to explore the off beaten path. Oh, and the ability to continuously move with little sleep. I could workout in the morning, work a full day, and then dance the night away without stopping. Let me do this today and I’m down for 3 days.

Yesterday was amazing because not only did I have the mind set to explore but I was a sponge to information. My mind consumed information about a multitude of things, and when I compared notes to actual location/history, it was the bell of knowledge ringing. I loved it, and I learned a lot about people, places, and things.

Yesterday was also amazing as a dad. Oh man, I wished I had those days back because I watched my kids grow into beautiful people. Was I a part of this? I was to some point regardless of military deployments. I had input to their development. And I am a proud dad on all accounts.

Yesterday was amazing, like remembering the thrill of meeting people who impressed you. Even those who didn’t impress were still exciting because they bought one thing more than you had, or something totally different to the union. No one is perfect, but their flaws are well enough to make you smarter. You get to deal with each individual as an individual.

Yesterday was amazing. Remember everything in your life – good, bad, ugly, and exciting- and thank God you’ve traveled to be who you are today. It’s a reality we are made up from our experiences. I’m thankful for mine, aren’t you? Yesterday was amazing.
